These are the Reiki Principles.
I have been sitting with these principles daily for a few months now and they’ve changed me.
I experienced subtle yet noticeable differences in perception, perspective and understanding of myself and my reality.
These principles have reminded me of the importance of being kind to ourselves and sharing that kindness with everyone and everything around us.
These are simple principles and yet they are not always at the forefront of our mind or actions.
When I first began to embody these principles it was hard. Not because I didn’t think I could do it, but because it meant I’d have to identify and let go of many old patterns (beliefs, behaviors, thoughts, consumption) that I knew would make me uncomfortable.
However I embraced this discomfort. I faced these “things” within me that we’re no longer a part of me and therefore of my reality.
What a liberating experience.
I share this with you today in the hopes that these are able to help you as well. You do not need to be a Reiki practitioner to reap the benefits of living your moment to moment experiences in this way.
In my experience I got the most out of each one by embodying them fully one at a time for as many days (or weeks) as needed, not just to understand them, but to realize what each principle means to me as an individual.
I was pleasantly astonished by the daily development and experience of life through the lens of these principles. The way that I perceived my moment to moment experiences where from a place of deeper compassion and understanding of self.
I am grateful everyday and somehow living these principles gave a deeper resonance to the gratitude I already have.
Mindful awareness. That’s what these principles cultivate and from this perspective I am humbled and grateful to be here everyday and to be able to do what I do.
What do these principles mean to me?
They are the foundation for a mindful awareness to be your truest self in your moment to moment experiences while inspiring others to do the same.
